At the Provisional Retreat, Provisionals are introduced to JLNVB membership, mentors, and what to expect in the next year. Below are some answers to the most frequently asked questions:

This is an informal event and you will see a variety of styles. Some ladies come in jeans and others in sun dresses.

Where do I park for the Retreat?
Parking will be behind Catholic Charities. Please use the side entrance to enter the building.

What if I cannot make the retreat?
DON’T WORRY! All you need to do is let me know and I will make sure you have all the pertinent information. We will miss you! There will be a chance to make-up the Retreat on September 19thfrom 9-11 am at a ropes challenge course.

When can I pay dues?
You can send your dues into our PO Box (PO Box 956, Norfolk, VA23501). You can also bring the $150 dues to the Retreat. We will be able to accept cash, credit cards, and checks.

What is a GMM?
General Membership Meetings (GMMs) are our monthly meetings with our entire membership. The GMM on August 19th is to kick-off our League year. We will have a short business meeting and then enjoy socializing. Significant others are WELCOMED to this GMM.

What is a PMM?
Provisional Membership Meetings (PMMs) are our monthly meetings as a Provisional Class. New members learn about JLNVB’s Mission and our impact on the community. Guest speakers include the Vice Presidents and chairs from our councils. They share about their roles in the League and how they help JLNVB achieve its Mission. PMMs are also an opportunity for Provisionals to learn more about each other, work on their class projects, and speak to their Mentors.

What style of dress is appropriate for the PMMs and GMMs?
Many ladies will come directly from work; business casual is the most popular attire.
