Project Makeover Hampton Roads is a community initiative by Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach, tHRive Young Professionals, and the Urban Renewal Center. Its purpose is to create a more dynamic learning environment for elementary students in Hampton Roads. We plan to accomplish this goal by refurbishing one elementary school each year and need your help to do it!
On August 17-19, we will bring together more than 200 volunteers to makeover Jacox Elementary School in Norfolk, VA. Volunteers will have the opportunity to create a lasting impact at Jacox through various projects including landscaping, painting indoor and outdoor murals, revamping the school library, and revitalizing the school playground.
Volunteer sign-ups are open now for both individuals and organizations. To sign up, go to www.bit.ly/pmhr2018 and complete the Google form to reserve your spot. Closer to the makeover weekend, we will send out confirmation emails with more instructions.
This event is RAIN OR SHINE and volunteers must be age 18 or older. (If you work with a high school population that is interested in participating, please contact us directly to discuss how they may be involved.) Additional questions can be directed to email@example.com.
Jacox Elementary School is located at 1300 Marshall Ave., Norfolk, VA 23504. We hope you will roll up your sleeves and meet us there for a rewarding weekend!
