The Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach is proud to team up with Champions for Children to offer the Stewards of Children® training program, an evidence-informed prevention solution that increases knowledge, improves attitudes, and changes child protective behaviors. This training program offers practical prevention training with a conversational, real-world approach.
Stewards of Children® is a workshop presented by Champions For Children: Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads. Champions for Children is a 501 (c)3 organization that has served the Hampton Roads region since 1983 in the quest to prevent child abuse and neglect. It focuses its efforts and resources on public awareness, education, and advocacy for the prevention of all forms of child abuse and neglect.
The workshop is professionally constructed and uses real stories with real people and experts. Five steps for protecting children are taught and reinforced by trained Facilitators. The training program is a 2-hour training with interactive workbooks given to every participant. The training is led by a certified, well-trained Facilitator and utilizes an outstanding DVD and audio presentation. Champions For Children: Prevent Child Abuse Hampton Roads Facilitators come onsite to train groups of adults who care for children in the Hampton Roads region.
