Looking to clean out and get rid of those gently used cell phones you have tucked in your drawers and closets?!
Well, we have the perfect place for you to donate cell phones and accessories that are no longer used , AND you’ll help provide vital assistance local women in need. The YWCA is collecting cell phones and all cell phone accessories to provide cell phones to the women of their “Women in Crisis” Domestic Violence shelters and programs. The JLNVB wants to help them gather as many as possible!
At the September GMM, scheduled for Wednesday, September 21 st , the Community Committee will be collecting your gently used cell phones and any accessories to help the YWCA of South Hampton Roads.
Please check your drawers and closets over this coming weekend for your unused cell phones and any accessories, chargers, etc. Call your friends to see if they have some to clear out. Then, bring them all to the GMM on Thursday for donations to the YWCA!
Amy Lovelace will be available at the meeting to take your donations and will then deliver them to the YWCA to be disbursed to women in need in the local community.
If you cannot make it to the meeting, phones and accessories may be dropped off at the Taylor-Whittle House by Thursday, September 22nd during business hours. Please contact Nancy at 623-7270 for hours. Or, you may contact the YWCA directly for drop-off information.

They have a 24-hour Hotline which is staffed by crisis counselors 7 days a week.
