The 2009-2010 Provisional Class, in conjunction with the American Red Cross, hosted the 2010 Blood Drive at Pembroke Mall on February 6, 2010.
You don’t need a special event to donate blood! Below are the basic eligibility requirements to be a donor. Though we would like everyone to donate, it is understood that there are many factors that may disqualify you from being a donor. So before you dontate, please review the list below and/or go on the American Red Cross website to see a complete list of criteria.
- Donors can only donate blood every 56 days. This is a whole blood drive only.
- The donor must be healthy. Healthy means that you feel well and can perform normal activities. If you have a chronic condition such as diabetes, healthy also means that you are being treated and the condition is under control.
- Donors must be at least 17 years old.
- Donors must weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18 years old and younger and all high school donors.
If you are able to donate, please go to www.givelife.org , using sponsor code JLNVB , and sign-up for a time to donate.
